No. 7 Duke travels to Louisville for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Cardinals, and No. 8 Kentucky heads to Columbia, South Carolina for a matchup with the South Carolina Gamecocks.
We’ll also scan the college basketball odds and see if we can’t find some additional free college basketball picks to share with you for Tuesday Night College Basketball in Kentucky.
Duke Blue Devils vs. Louisville Cardinals 7:00 p.m. ET
This one tips off at 7:00 p.m. and is an important ACC matchup for both clubs. Duke was upset at home Saturday by Pitt, and they can’t be too happy with a 4-2 ACC mark. Louisville is 1-6 in ACC play and is looking to end a three-game losing skid when they host the Blue Devils.
Duke could be missing two of their top three leading scorers if Mark Mitchell and Jeremy Roach cannot suit up. Mitchell has missed the last two, Roach missed the loss to Pitt, and their status is up in the air for Tuesday. Louisville has a clean injury report other than fifth-leading scorer J.J. Traynor being lost for the season on December 3.
The best bet for this ACC tilt is the Over 153.5 (-110) at Caesars. Duke got blown out of their gym by Pitt because their defense is mediocre. Louisville doesn’t play any defense at all, and we should expect a high-scoring affair.
The Over/Under record when these two have previously met is 5-5-0, but the Over is 3-2-0 in the Cards’ last five, 3-2 over the Blue Devils last five, and I expect this contest to end Over 153.5 (-110) at Caesars KY.
Kentucky Wildcats vs. South Carolina Gamecocks 7:00 p.m. ET
No. 8 Kentucky is one game behind the leaderboard in the SEC standings, and they have a tough road matchup with the South Carolina Gamecocks. Kentucky is riding a two-game winning streak, while South Carolina is one game behind Kentucky in the conference standings and coming off a huge away victory over Arkansas.
Kentucky guard Adou Thiero is set to miss his eighth-consecutive tilt with an unspecified injury. Since then, the Wildcats are 2-1-0 ATS as the away team. Louisville’s third-leading scorer, Myles Stute, is out until February.
He missed time earlier this season and rejoined the lineup but got hurt again against Georgia. The Cardinals beat Arkansas on the road but will miss his scoring and defensive presence.
South Carolina is a +4 point home underdog, and that number is in play. That number won’t likely get any better, and if anything, the number will decrease, and all the value will be gone. The Gamecocks are 6-4-0 ATS at home and 3-2-0 ATS against the conference.
Kentucky is 2-1-0 ATS as the away team and 3-2-0 ATS against the conference. This is a game South Carolina needs to win, and they will cover the +4 at Caesars.
