General Betting Advice for Kentucky Sports Bettors

Sports betting is a fun way to enjoy your favorite team or sport. Here are some general tips to help you get started on your Kentucky sports betting journey.

1. Line Shopping

Line shopping is a strategy where the Kentucky sports bettor has as many betting accounts or “outs” as possible and searches through each Kentucky sportsbook for the best numbers and the best betting odds available.

Sports betting is all about finding value, and the best way to accomplish this is to survey the bookies’ numbers and the price along with it and make your play with the bookie that gives you the best number at the best price possible.

2. Bankroll Management

Next to line shopping, having the discipline to manage your bankroll wisely is what separates the pros from the “Joes.” That’s why it’s important to have some sort of bankroll management system and stick with it.

For example, Let’s say you have a bankroll of $25,000 for the football season. The system I use works like this–I would take the $25,000 and divide it by 1%. That leaves me a unit price of $250 and would be my standard stake for every wager I make. This allows me the freedom of losing a few wagers while still keeping me in the game much longer than if I used no system at all.

3. Sports Betting is a Math Game

Sports betting is more about understanding basic math and applying that math to the game you want to bet on than anything else. It’s one thing for the Kentucky Wildcats to win a game, but you need to consider the price it will cost you to bet on Kentucky.

  • Western Kentucky +400
  • Kentucky Wildcats -600

In the above hypothetical example, the Wildcats are a 6-1 favorite to win the game. That means you must bet $600 to win $100. That’s too risky for what is very little profit. Before placing any bet, we must always consider the risk of the wager and weigh that risk against any possible reward.

The above tips should help you begin your Kentucky sports betting journey correctly. Understanding the terms and conditions of the bonuses on offer and employing strategies like line shopping, bankroll management, and the math behind the wager are the foundations for success. We hope that by following these tips, your sports betting journey will be positive.
